The United Church of Canada made a revealing statement here: “United Church of Canada Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Israel and Palestine,” United Church of Canada, October 7, 2023:
The United Church condemns the attacks launched on communities in southern Israel by Hamas, and the ongoing daily violence meted out against Palestinians by Israel’s deepening occupation in Palestinian territories….Echoing the statement issued by the World Council of Churches, The United Church of Canada is deeply concerned about the risks of spiralling conflict between Palestinian armed groups and Israeli forces.
For starters, no entity known as “Palestine” exists. ‘Palestine’ isn’t a state, despite being declared one by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which claims 57 member states, including “Palestine.”
Somewhere, somehow, the disingenuous World Council of Churches (WCC) and the BDS-supporting United Church of Canada (UCC) have missed the abundantly documented history of the Palestinian jihad against Israel. To call for a ceasefire in the midst of an all-out war is as ridiculous as calling for a “ceasefire” on “both sides” while the World War II was raging. This current Israeli war on Hamas in Gaza was initiated by Hamas, and it did so in the most calculated and gruesome fashion. The UK Express released a headline: ‘Worse than ISIS’: Hamas terrorists ‘behead Israeli soldiers’ in sickening footage.
Hamas is supported by Iran and its proxies, and its unprecedented attack was launched at a time when Israel was perceived to be weakened — it was distracted by interference from the Biden administration in its internal affairs, an interference that is ongoing. Then there are the billions that have flowed into Iranian coffers via Biden’s hostage deal, and before that, Obama’s backroom deals (see also HERE); as well as continued Palestinian funding from the Biden administration.
In March, Palestinian Islamic Jihad declared that the “IDF is disintegrating before our eyes.”
The Palestinian imperative to obliterate Israel from the River to the Sea has been escalating for some time– in brutality and boldness.
While sinister organizations, even those operating under the banner of Christianity, pretend to care about “both sides,” they conveniently ignore the key threat: the longstanding Palestinian jihad against Israel.
The United Church joins with all those praying for a just peace in the Holy Land and urges global leaders to work urgently for an end to the current violence, an end to the ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories, and a just and lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis.
What the UCC is really requesting is that Israel stop defending itself. This would mean the obliteration of the Jewish state. The UCC cloaks its statement in a monstrous disguise — as a “prayer.”
Israel must defend itself alone. The gloves are off, and antisemites are being exposed everywhere.
In New Zealand, the Anglican Church proposed a bowdlerized Bible with all references to Israel eliminated and replaced with “Palestine”.
And mainstream Protestant denominations wonder why they’re losing members in droves.
Replace Israel with Palestine, that’s real funny, the pagans at the WCC and UCC sure are a funny lot.

The United ”NOTHINGS are out and about with ”just do goodie things!!” Doesn’t mount to a hill of beans! They don’t except Jesus as the Messiah and preach only what ”tickles the ears of sinners!” Evangelicals’ have always supported the ”GOSPEL.!” and the only nation that God formed…ISRAEL .homeland for the JEWISH people!
They are especially being exposed in our Congress in the entity known as the Squad. Trashida Tlaib should be deported to Gaza where she can endure living under Hamas. Little Ilhan Omar should go back to Somalia. Jamaal Bowman should go pull another fire alarm. AOC should go back to bartending. As for the remaining miscreants, I really don’t give a crap about any of them.

All of the Squad should summarily be kicked out of Congress. Given that it won’t happen, the new speaker, Jim Jordan hopefully, should strip all of them from their committee assignments and given the job of Congressional janitor cleaning toilets.

Have supported Israel since the Six Day War as an atheist, more so after the barbaric attack on SA as an orthodox Christian. However, let us remember the socialist Ariel Sharon who gave Gaza to the islamists. Now is the time for Jews in Israel & in the US to declare their allegiance once & for all.
A bit of history re: Palestine. It is a term from the Roman Empire to eliminate the use of Judea-Jews. There is no such thing as a Palestinian nation or ethnicity. They all are primitive, fanatic & lazy Arabs; the surrounding Arab states don’t want them. Israel is clean & green, the Arab Gaza is a filthy wasteland & a shizzle hole. Israel shall prevail if it doesn’t listen to the corrupt UN & other L-regressive appeasers. Were I Bibi, would start blowing up the tunnels in Gaza & around the border. Further, the entire West Bank & Jerusalem belong to Israel, at least since 1967.
Alas, as long as EU & the US pours millions to PA & billions to Iran, the atrocities shall continue. The jihadis must starve.
I for one am totally on board for a cease-fire. After every military aged man in GAZA is killed, or rotting in an Egyptian or Jordanian cell. (Because if they set foot in either country they will not be welcome.)

I left the United church of Canada when I was 12 after their Moderator pronounced “better red than dead” as their guiding principle. My parents were victims of the Soviet regime. They had already made their choice. I made mine.
At twelve you were a vary bright kid. I’m jealous (Lol!) I was never considered a smart one.
The United Church is commenting on and taking sides in a political and social struggle. As such they should lose their right for donations to them to be tax free. Either they are a-political or not. They are not. They continually take a stand against Israel. They must lose their rights to have donations to them remain tax deductible.
The United Church has been suppoting the terrorists and ordinary Palestinians in their fight to destroy Israel for a long time. They have never been held accountable. They should acknowledge their position and pay the penalty for their political positions. It is not a matter of charity and never has been.
We “cease fire” when either our enemy ceases to fire or we are dead.
